…and Arriving

February 23, 2006

Finally arrived in Jakarta…hot, humid jakarta…so pengap, with traffic everywhere, people driving brutally as if there’s no tomorrow, cops waiting at every intersection trying to get some pocket money.  I heard from my mom that a truck fell down from a bridge (jembatan layang) to the street below…Gee, I wonder how that could happen with everyone following the traffic rule so "religiously"??

Went back to my old room.  Haven’t unpacked yet…and I definitely need to reorganize my room, so I can find places for all the stuffs in the 4 suitcases and 2 big boxes that I brought home with me.

Definitely need to readjust again, to the place where everyone looks very thin (I miss the U.S. and its obesity problem, making me feel so thin *grinz*), to the place where people dress to kill to go to the mall, to the place where it’s not safe to buy stuffs online…ugh, ugh, ugh.  Everything looks the same, yet feels new…as Benz will put it, it feels so surreal *LOL*

Leaving…

February 21, 2006

I can’t believe I’m going to leave San Francisco in less than 6 hours.  The fact of me leaving the States seems hasn’t gotten to me yet.  I was so calm while packing up all my stuffs today…it just feels like I’m gonna leave for a quick trip and be back in this little apartment in less than a week.

Leaving San Diego yesterday felt so much harder and sadder, so many good memories and friends there….I tried to take in as much as possible during the weekend, the weather, the food, the good times, the view, even the traffic *grinz*

So I guess this is my last entry in the States…looking forward to be in Jakarta… new place, new hopes, and definitely can’t wait to meet all the old and new friends. This is Feliz, reporting for the last time from 729 Jones St, San Francisco.

So stupid…

February 8, 2006

Argh…so stupid.  Today, I don’t know why, I decided to listen to MP3s in my laptop that I rarely heard anymore…the soundtrack of my life as a San Diegan.  All the memories just came rushing back…oh, this was the song when I learned how to drive…this was the song when I had to come to the library on the weekends to study for the god damn CFA exam…this was the song that I practiced in the choir…Looking back, it was a very good time in San Diego.  I feel at home there…fun in the sun, good friends…and definitely great drinking and dancing partners.  More reasons to realize that San Francisco is not my place…never really actually feel comfortable here anyway…Here’s to the memorable San Diegans, wherever you guys are =)
